Located in the high desert of northeast California, Diehard Gundogs is committed to producing premium upland bird dogs through genetics and training. First and foremost we are avid chukar hunters. We hunt our dogs on wild chukar, quail and pheasant from October though February then keep the dogs active on bird clubs and our own birds the rest of the year.

Our goal is to continually try to improve the breed by choosing quality dogs for our breeding stock. We make our selections based on several criteria including: outstanding noses, great conformation, superior intelligence, and pleasing dispositions.

Diehard Gundogs generally has two to three quality litters every spring. Pups are socialized from day one and our neighbor kids are quite helpful with that. We also expose the pups to birds as early as possible and start training them early to be selfless hunters.

We also offer gundog or foot trial training for puppies from four months to 2+ years. Our flight pen is home to pigeons, chukar, bobwhite quail, and coturnix quail; offering appropriate birds for each step in the training process. We have 80 acres of farmland to work dogs adjacent to our home and frequently travel a few miles to train in different types of habitat.

We are members of the Honey Lake Pointing Dog Club and Northern California-Nevada Region of the National Shoot to Retrieve Association and have been successfully participating in field trials since 2008. We donate several puppies each year to charitable organizations and support youth and veterans hunts along with our local Pheasants Forever Chapter, Honey Lake Pointing Dog Club, and 5 Dot Pheasant club. We also enjoy mentoring area youth with their young dogs.
